In continuation of by Despatch No. 126 of the 30th. March on the subject of a consignment of 170 chests of opium from Calcutta to Mexico which it was intended to smuggle into Canton, I have the honour to inform you that there does not appear to be any chance of a successful prosecution against the Manager of

the Bank of Canton.
